Exclusive: Judge Ends Gucci Mane’s Probation 2 Years Early

Court Papers Say Rapper Has Turned His Life Around

Looks like Gucci Mane will have a great, life changing fall season.
But it’s not just because of his upcoming wedding next month to his longtime fiance, Keyshia Ka’oir. A Georgia judge has just agreed to end his probation two years early that stems from his gun charge conviction, according to court papers obtained by BOSSIP.

Gucci, who was born Radric Davis, argued he should get a break on his probation because of his “outstanding performance while on supervised release,” the rapper’s court papers state. Lawyers for the rap star said he lost 70 pounds while he was locked up, got clean and saober and wrote so much music inside that he was able to drop a single 24 hours after he got out and four albums in the last year.

The ex-con served 39 months after a jury convicted him of illegally possessing a firearm as a felon and had to pay a $5,000 fine. He was released in the spring of 2016.

Gucci said he paid the fine and has abided by all of the terms of his probation.

“Everything Mr. Davis has done since his release from prison evidences this change in priorities; namely, his health, family, career and his fans,” Gucci’s lawyer said in court papers. “In the year he has been out, he has performed a countless number of times and released 4 albums. He has collaborated with dozens of artists on songs. He became engaged to his girlfriend and is set to be married on October 17, 2017.”
Judge Steve Jones agreed, and on Aug. 23, signed a motion to terminate Guwop’s probation effective Sept. 19
