The Chief Executive Officer of Chocho Industries Limited, Alhaji Mustapha Oti Boateng, has made a special cash donation and some items to ace actor Super OD at his residence in Swedru.
To the Chocho chief, the gesture was in recognition of the 80-year-old actor's contribution to the development and promotion of arts and entertainment in the country and beyond.
The items included a high grade traditional cloth, some Chocho products and undisclosed amount of money.
In the company of Amy Appiah Frimpong, acting Executive Director of the National Theatre of Ghana and some officials of Chocho Industries, Alhaji Oti Boateng highly praised OD, one of the three surviving members of the popular Osofo Dadzie group.
'Don't think society has neglected you, we at Chocho especially hold you high in our hearts. You have done so much for this country and beyond,' he said.
Alhaji Chocho continued…. 'After a day's work, your shows and performances was what kept us moving and refreshed us. This is just a token; plans are underway to get you on board on the Chocho Concert Party train. I will prepare some special herbal concoction for your knee, I have realised you have difficulty in walking.'
OD, who currently is nursing a chronic knee ligament, thanked Alhaji Chocho for the recognition and support.
Osofo Dadzie (Frimpong Manso) and Akua Boahemaa, domiciled in Holland, are the three surviving members of the group that took the country and Europe by storm in the 70s and 80s
