Last weekend Ghandour Cosmetics, a leading beauty manufacturing company launched Scent of Africa, Africa’s first luxury fragrance, at the exclusive Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra, Ghana with over 300 guests. The event kicked off with a red carpet entrance by some of West Africa’s top celebrities including Becca, Roseline Okoro, John Dumelo, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Vimbai Mutinhiri, and emcee, Joselyn Dumas. The product was launched via theatrical performances incorporating a diverse representation of  African regions including South African fire-breathers, a gum boot mining simulation and product unveiling by super model, Oluchi Orlandi and World Cup Champion and international footballer, Marcel DeSailly, Scent of Africa’s official celebrity brand ambassadors.
The Scent of Africa bottle is designed in Africa’s instantly recognizable and iconic shape. The gold colour of Scent of Africa for Woman, illustrates the magnetism of today’s African woman while the silver colour of Scent of Africa for Man, represents the modern distinguished African gentleman.
“Immediately, the packaging gets your attention.  When I first saw it, I held [it] in my hand and knew I needed to be a part of this,” shared Oluchi, the formerVictoria’s Secrets model and  Host/Producer of Africa’s Next Top Model.
“I’ve been wearing the fragrance for the past few months and I noticed when women smell the cologne, they are enthusiastic! It immediately grabs their attention. For the gentlemen who love to dress well, this fragrance is a perfect,” shared Desailly, a star of the Francenational football team squad, with whom he won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.
Scent of Africa For Man possesses exquisite notes of crushed petal of the geranium flower combined with a seductive cocoa chocolate. The Scent of Africa For Woman fragrance is filled with aphrodisiac ingredients, with notes of Almond, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang,Vanilla from Madagascar and Musk. Both fragrances are available in 30 ml and 90 ml.
“I’ve had the vision of launching Scent of Africa for many years. I’m happy that we are able to see it come to life. I am most interested in our fragrance telling a story. It is Oluchi’s feminine charm in direct contrast with the powerful and virile physique of Marcel Desailly that represent a powerful force of one sole vision, the awakening of a new Africa,” said Tanal Ghandour, owner of Ghandour Cosmetic, whose highly integrated manufacturing facility in Ghana employs over 600 staff.
