Sarkodie Does Not Understand Brand Equity – Okraku Mantey
It was obvious that, music critic and famed producer, Mark Okraku Mantey, would definitely wade into the ensuing M.anifest – Sarkodie lyrical war – and he didn’t disappoint.
As monitored by www.razzonline.com, Okraku Mantey rendered his opinion on the saga on Hitz FM, telling host, Andy Dosty that, Sardodie is a good rapper but does not understand brand equity.
The producer was making reference to some lines in Sarkodie’s acclaimed diss song, ‘Kanta’.
“The GTP line was a no go-area, you don’t do that. Sarkodie does not understand brand equity,” he said.
He delved deeper in other lines he found awkward and out of place in the song.
” The afrocentric bit is another bad line. He is trying to tell us, that people who believe in afrocentrism do not have much , so, they depend on afrocentric stuff? With that line, he spoke against prominent personalities in Ghana who believe in the afrocentrism; Kwesi Twum, Dr. Mensah Otabil, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom and Spio Garbrah.
Mark called on the rapper to apologize, saying; ” He should come back and apologize.”
He also had some strong opinion on the rap skills of the most decorated artist in Ghana.
“Sarkodie is always a good a rapper but he says a lot of silly stuff in his songs.”
He also had this admonition for Sarkodie: ” When he completes his songs, he should play them to some level-headed person to review before he releases.”
On M.anifest, the award-winning producer had this to share as monitored by www.razzonline.com.
“M.anifest, with time, has shown to be deep. He has taken his time to create a brand and most respected rappers respect him for that.”
