Yvonne Chaka Chaka to celebrate Kojo Antwi
South African singing super star, Yvonne Chaka Chaka has confirmed her appearance at the upcoming LEGENDS AND LEGACY BALL 2014, scheduled for the Accra International Conference Centre on November 1.
The beautiful songstress has expressed excitement to be part of the celebration of an Africa music icon as huge as the Maestro Kojo Antwi and she has shown how important it is to her as a fellow African musician.
Yvonne will grace the stage with her awesomeness as the African music queen that she is and perform some of her all-time hits including “Thank You Mr. DJ”, “Am Burning up” and the ever-popular “Umqombothi” among others for her Ghanaian fans.
Ms. Chaka Chaka cannot mount the LAL BALL stage without being part of the tradition of show, which is the main aim of the event, where other known musicians are supposed to perform songs of the honoree of the night while he (Kojo Antwi) sits and enjoys their performances.
The International music star has agreed to perform one of Kojo Antwi’s classic songs and even though she has not disclosed the particular song she would be singing, she has assured Ghanaians that she has already begun rehearsals and she is also carefully learning the correct pronunciation of some of the Twi words in the song.
Freddy Mayway do it for Hi-Life living Legend Abrantie Amakyi Dede in grand style in 2012 and its time for yet another African music prodigy to help celebrate Mister Music Man Kojo Antwi.
It all begun in 2011 when the ladies’ man and legendary DL (Daddy Lumba) was honored in grand style, in 2012, “Seeeeerious” man Amakye Dede was celebrated like never before. In 2013, AB Crenstil was filled with uncontrollable emotions and brought to tears as he watched his entire musical life played back to him.
Now in 2014, Ghana will experience another evolution. Come Saturday, 1st of November 2014, all roads will lead to the Accra International Conference Center to celebrate one of our own, the maestro- Kojo Antwi- a true music legend of our time.
The night of glitz and glamour will feature tribute performances from Kwabena Kwabena, Edem, Wutah Afriyie, Kweisey Pee and Akwaboah and amazing performances from Efya, Kaaki, Noela , MzVee and from the gospel giant Nacy.
