Why Creatives Don’t Succeed In Traditional, 9-To-5 Work Environments

Image
Full-time jobs are not for everybody. Sure, to most of the workforce, they’re seen as amazing opportunities to take care of expenses and responsibilities and prepare for the future (children, retirement, your own home, etc.), but they also provide a sense of security that does nothing for the free-flowing creative, nor the risk-it-all entrepreneur. The people in these two categories love the struggle of bootstrapping businesses and stretching resources to do the impossible, even if they can’t pay the rent. Here’s why nine-to-fives have no place in the lives of the super creative: 1. Too Much Structure If artists have too much structure, especially structure someone else dictates, they go crazy. I’m not talking about “method-to-the-madness” crazy, I mean damn-near-killing-people-for-no-reason crazy. Entrepreneurs and creatives crave the abstract, free flowing of things. They prefer to have pieces to a puzzle so they can determine which pieces fit in their lives best. They ...

You can now make free calls with your whatsapp — here’s how to activate it

Image
We’ve been hearing rumors for a while now about WhatsApp launching voice calling on its Android app. The feature is indeed available in the app’s latest version, but you’ll need another user’s help to activate it. First, you’ll first need the latest version of the Android app, which, at the time of writing is 2.11.561. Then you’ll have to ask a user who has the feature to call you. Once you’ve received the call, close the app and reopen it. You should now see a new screen with three columns, including one for calls. You can then call any of your WhatsApp contacts over VoIP through the app. You may not be able to reach people running older versions of the app. It’s certainly not the most efficient way of rolling out a feature, but that may be the point. There’s no word yet on whether the company will charge for calls in the future. We’ve contacted WhatsApp to find out more and will update this post when we hear back.

Dog Kicked By Driver Returns With Pack Of Friends To Trash His Car [Photos]

Image
Wonders shall never end my people. One driver in China paid the price for ignoring the advice that one should let sleeping dogs lie. . . He drove back to his home in Chongqing to find a stray dog lying in his favourite parking spot, so he got out and kicked it. However, as far as the dog was concerned, that was not the end of the matter. . It returned later on with some of its pals and proceeded to exact its revenge by chewing the bodywork and windscreen wipers of the car belonging to his attacker. The vandalism was photographed by a startled neighbor . . The driver was shown the next morning as evidence that a series of dents and marks on his car were caused by a pack of hounds.
