Emmanuella Samuel, a popular comedienne in Nigeria who gained prominence through her comedy skits on Youtube has landed a Hollywood Disney movie role. The child comedienne made the announcement on her Instagram page on Sunday, February 18, 2018. In the post which shows pictures of her on set at Disney Studios, she also appreciates those who have supported her comedy career. “Thanks @disneystudios God bless everyone whose support has added to bringing us here. I never dreamed of being here so soon. I miss Success. I love you all,” she posted. Since her venture into Nigerian Youtube space, with the popular Mark Angel Comedy show, fans of the 7 year old comedienne have enjoyed quality comedy productions. Ghanaian comedian-turned-musician, David Oscar Dogbe, has asked the public to ignore comedians who have conferred on themselves kingly and queenly titles. In a Facebook post he made on Wednesday, 21 st  February, 2018, the ‘Rasta Love’ singer said he is the best thing that happened to Ghanaian stand-up comedy. “Forget your kings, king – kongs, queens and self imposed monarchs. I am the best thing that happened to Ghanaian Stand up Comedy. Let any fellow who “can” claim otherwise, step up for a debate,” he wrote. Since his exit from Stand-up comedy into music, there have been a couple of comedians who have assumed several accolades to dignify their trade. Comedian Derrick Kobina Bonney aka DKB, for example, is affectionately called the ‘King of GH Comedy.’ According to DKB, the title was conferred on him by ace satirist Kwaku Sintim-Misa, who until the conferral of his ‘kingship’ was the King of Stand-up Comedy. Rapper Sarkodie who talks about how he made it from grass to grace in the song added that Patapaa would have performed at his funeral if he had not make it in Life. Total disrespect to Patapaa? Well some music lovers believe that Patapaa’s One Corner video which came with its own crazy dance prevented videos from Sarkodie’s Highest Album to trend on youtube when they were released. It appears the cloud of prophecies flying around the head of the late Ebony Reigns will not end anytime soon. 17-year-old Ebony and the Prophetess Her manager, Bullet has stated that on the first day he met Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, whom he named Ebony after signing her, she had told him, fearfully, about a prophecy she received when she was 17, and meeting him (Bullet of Ruff and Smooth), which was part of the prophesy she received, made her fearful. Speaking to Abeiku Santana on Okay FM yesterday, Bullet revealed Ebony confided in him that a prophetess she encountered at a prayer meeting (at Mamfe where she attended Secondary School before she dropped out) told her “My daughter, you will become a very big star, but you will die at your peak”, the prophetess told Ebony in Twi. The organizers of the “ Ghana Meets Naija ” (Belgium) regrets to inform the public that, the “Ghana Meets Naija” (Belgium Edition) Scheduled for 10th February 2018 has been cancelled. The organizers thought it’s inappropriate to host the event when music lovers and die-hard fans of Ebony are mourning their music star. We asked if the show would be postponed to a later date and the answer was, they haven’t decided on that yet but what is more important to them is to pay Ebony Reigns that respect. In a comedy routine celebrating Chinese-African ties, an Asian actress appears in blackface and with exaggerated buttocks. Using make-up to lampoon black people, a practice known as blackface is seen by many as deeply offensive. The annual state media variety show is hugely popular and has up to 800 million viewers. Some observers have pointed out that this sketch would not have been intended as offensive to Africans. However, this is not the first time Chinese entertainment shows have caused controversy with their portrayals of other ethnicities.
